One of things that made me more aware of my growing anxiety was my wave of extreme, unhealthy emotions. I felt angry, stressed, and worried a lot of the time and sometimes all at once. My mental instability got progressively worse over time. It got to the point where I couldn’t remember the last time I didn’t worry or get frustrated about something. One day, I finally admitted to myself that I needed to confront my feelings and figure out a way to break free from my own troubled mind.
I used to mentally note how I was feeling and kept a loose track record in my head. My breakthrough was mentally seeing how much my feelings of anxiety and stress were consuming my mind. It was then I realized I needed to take an honest look at my feelings and confront what scared me the most. It took a lot of effort, time, and lifestyle changes, but now I am here with a much healthier, positive mindset.
Acknowledging my mood and feelings was the first step in actually taking control of my mental health. So I believe tracking your mood can give you a visual perspective of how you’re feeling on a daily basis. Even just a week of tracking can let you see which feelings dominate your life. The goal of this is to start being honest with yourself about your feelings so you can take actionable steps and make changes that help your mind, not harm it. This was the game changer for me and I hope this can help you with your journey too.
